I am honored to be a member of the National Guild Of Hypnotists. This is one of the oldest guilds and certifying bodies for the practice of hypnosis.

My name is Mark Pratt, and my path to guiding others through meditation and hypnosis has been a long, deeply personal journey. It’s been marked by early intuition, persistent struggle, and ultimately a profound breakthrough.

From my earliest memories (memories that go further back than most people think is possible), I’ve carried a quiet sense that a higher power exists and that the clearest way to connect with it is through stillness. As a child, what my parents called “prayer” never quite felt right to me. Instead, I instinctively slipped into what I now recognize as meditation: creating deliberate inner space to listen, to feel, and to receive. I didn’t have the words for it back then, but that practice became the foundation of everything that followed.

Childhood meditation didn’t turn me into some little Buddha, though. Far from it. Like everyone else, I grew up dealing with the full range of human challenges: frustration, impatience, arguments with loved ones, regrets over lost temper or lack of sensitivity, and all the ordinary messiness of life. Meditation gave me moments of profound calm and clarity that could last hours or even days after a strong session. But those states always felt separate from “real life.” The stillness would slip away the moment routine demands, stress, or conflict pulled me back. I was treating inner work and everyday life as two different worlds, and I couldn’t figure out how to bring them together.

That struggle followed me into adulthood. I built a successful IT career, discovered Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in 1997, and started using it both professionally with clients and personally to get through tough times. By 2000 I was studying hypnosis more deeply and making daily meditation part of my routine for focus, resilience, and emotional balance. These tools helped a lot, yet the deeper integration I was looking for still felt out of reach.

Everything changed during a stretch of intense challenge. Job loss, chronic pain, and a wave of emotional difficulties hit all at once. Instead of breaking me, that storm became the turning point I needed. With time suddenly on my hands, I decided to train professionally as a hypnotist, not just to help others but to revisit my own inner work with new perspective. Combining decades of meditative practice, esoteric study, pain-management techniques, and fresh hypnotic tools finally revealed the missing piece: meditation isn’t a retreat from the world. It’s the most powerful way to engage with it.

Instead of escaping into stillness, I learned to use the meditative state to connect more deeply with my breath, my body, my emotions, and ultimately with the people and experiences around me. Facing chronic pain directly through this integrated approach completely changed how I experienced it. Stress lost its hold. The divide between “spiritual” practice and daily life disappeared. What emerged was a lasting, grounded shift… a true Deep Shift in mindset that touched every part of my life.

Today, I’ve fully stepped into the work I was always heading toward. Through Deep Shift {MindSet}, I offer guided meditations, hypnosis sessions, and practical tools to help you quiet the noise, build real self-awareness, and create lasting change. Whether you’re looking for stress relief, emotional resilience, pain management, confidence, or a deeper connection to yourself and the world, I’m here to guide you with the same compassion and real-world understanding I wish I’d had earlier in my own journey.
